postpartum home visits

During the first 56 days after birth your Krankenkasse will pay for 10 Home Visits. If it’s your first child, if you have twins, a premature birth or a Cesarean Section you are entitled up till 16 home visits.

As a midwife I visit new mothers who have returned home after giving birth, I help them rework the experience. I check their psychophysical recovery and together with the state of health of the newborn.

I carry out newborn screenings, weight gains and make sure that the newborn is fed adequately according to the mother's choices. I show how to bathe and give baby care tips.
